Seeking a warm, flexible, and nurturing Nanny/Family Assistant in Soho, New York, for a full-time position in a positive and loving household for one child, currently 18 months old.
Travel with the family over the summer and occasional weeks to Europe, the Caribbean, the U.
S.
, and other locations throughout the year.
A significant amount of flexibility with the schedule is required.
The general schedule is Monday through Friday, guaranteed 40 hours per week, and when agreed to, one weekday will be off in exchange for a Saturday evening.
The schedule will be provided at least in advance.
Flexibility can be offered to the candidate for important dates or commitments when the calendars align.
* Provide a safe and warm environment for the child.
* Work hand in hand with the mom in the day-to-day care of the child.
* Diaper changes and supporting and maintaining healthy hygiene.
* Engaging the child in age-appropriate activities, including reading and indoor and outdoor play.
* Bedtime and bathtime routines.
* Supporting child to sleep, including occasional contact naps.
* Running errands, grocery shopping
* Identifying when new items are needed, such as when the child needs new clothing or when household items are running low; restocking household and child-related items.
* Keep the child’s items, equipment like the stroller, and other household and main spaces clean and tidy.
* Children’s laundry.
* Meal preparation.
* Assisting the family with travel.
* Helping the child learn to walk, eat solids, potty train, learning to read, etc.
* Packing and unpacking the child’s luggage.
The right candidate will be well-rounded, proactive, and excited about becoming a part of and helping maintain a happy and healthy environment for the child and assisting the parents and team in running the household smoothly.
Must have at least 3+ years of childcare experience working with toddlers and families.
The right candidate will be calm, cool, and collected, can go with the flow, organized, adept, adaptive, knowledgeable about child development, and enthusiastic about their growth and development.
They will have excellent communication skills and seek a long-term position for at least the next several years.
* Parenting philosophies include the Waldorf and RIE methods, letting the child be little, positive encouragement, and gentle parenting.
* Must have an interest in child development.
A major plus but not a requirement is experience as a teacher of young children or a background in early childhood psychology.
* The family has one Golden Retriever and a cat.
* Minimum of 3 years of full-time childcare experience.
* Upbeat, positive, and nurturing demeanor.
* Clean background check and motor vehicle record.
* 2-3 relevant references.
* Fluency in English
* Local resident.
* Passport-ready and flexible for travel.
* Must feel comfortable around animals.
$166,080 - 175,200 +
