Cafeteria Monitor

*Cafeteria Monitor - Part Time* *PURPOSE:*This position is a highly visible one and is responsible for monitoring student behavior during meal service.
The cafeteria monitor will assist with the cleanliness of the cafeteria and assist with the flow of meal service.
*REPORTS TO:*Principal or designee *QUALIFICATIONS:* * Minimum of a High School Diploma/College Degree preferred * Must be self-motivating and able to work efficiently and effectively with minimal supervision.
* Must be able to work well and handle stress-related situations in a positive, professional manner.

* Exhibit a personality that demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills to relate well with students, staff, administration, parents and the community.

*JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:* * Manages students during meal service (behavior problems will be referred to the teacher or principal according to guidelines established by the district.
* Communicates with students and school staff in a positive and professional manner utilizing appropriate customer service and interpersonal skills * Monitors student behavior by circulating and interacting with students during meals; encouraging students to wait in line in an orderly fashion; encouraging students to focus on eating and not talking; encouraging students to pick up their trash; encouraging students to leave the cafeteria in an orderly fashion.
* Assists with the cleanliness of the cafeteria.
* Dismisses classes in an orderly manner at the scheduled time * Encourage good table manners * Monitors students as they use the trash cans.
* Participates in training sessions, meetings, and scheduled cleaning days as requested.
* Performs all other duties as assigned by the Building Principal, his/her designee, or other appropriate Building/District Administrators.
