New and welcoming parents seek a Full-time Nanny for their daughter, currently 3 months old, in Battery Park City, NYC starting in mid-late March.
The general schedule is Monday through Friday, from 9:00 am - 5:00 pm or 8:00 am - 6:00 pm, guaranteed 40-50 hours per week, depending on the right candidates' needs.
Some flexibility is needed for an occasional later evening.
Both parents work full-time hybrid schedules.
Job responsibilities include but are not limited to;
* Bottle feedings and wash/sterilize bottles.
* Diaper changes and Supporting and maintaining healthy hygiene.
* Making purees, introducing solids, supporting baby-led weaning, and, eventually, meal preparation.
* Maintaining the child’s schedules (e.
g.
, meals, naps) and keeping track in a shared app.
* Walks, trips to the park, tummy time, mat time, indoor and outdoor play and activities.
* Supporting the achievement of age-appropriate milestones, both cognitively and physically.
* Engaging the child in age-appropriate activities as she grows.
* Fostering independence and kindness and nurturing her curiosity.
* Dress the child.
* Keep the baby upright (holding or bouncer) for 20 minutes after bottle feeding to help with reflux.
* Keep a daily communication log with the parents and share updates as needed.
* Child-related chores, including children’s laundry, folding and putting away her clothes, keeping the child’s room and main spaces clean and tidy, restocking the diaper bag, etc.
For the first few months, the baby requires the use of a Pavlik harness to correct hip dysplasia.
The parents will instruct the nanny on how to use one.
The right candidate will be patient, kind, and nurturing; a caregiver who can navigate any discomfort she experiences and remain calm and soothing when she fusses.
Someone with positive energy who will play and explore with the baby.
The parents will appreciate someone who is structured, organized, collected, warm and has great communication skills.
Someone with a good sense of humor and doesn’t get frustrated easily.
* 4+ years of experience as a nanny.
* 2+ years of experience with infants.
* Legally permitted to work in the U.
S.
* 2-3 Valid references.
* CPR certification or willing to get it renewed
* Tdap vaccine and covid vaccinated.
* Expert soother for a fussy baby.
A plus is having experience with reflux and / or using a Pavlik harness.
*Compensation*: $30.
00 - 35.
00 gross hourly for the first 40 hours per week.
OT on additional hours.
*Benefits*: 10 days paid vacation, 5 paid sick days, paid major holidays, MTA reimbursement, and others can be negotiated for the right candidate.
