Job Title: Grant Accountant
Job Summary: CASES, a non-profit organization that aims to increase public safety through innovative services that reduce crime and incarceration, improve behavioral health, promote recovery and rehabilitation, and create opportunities for success in the community, seeks a Grants & Contracts Manager to help oversee government grant administration, manage a portfolio of government and private foundation grants, maintaining timely and accurate financial records.

Salary: $65,000 - $75,0000.
Shift Hours – Monday – Friday

What you will be doing:
Management of a portfolio of government grants.
Timely preparation and submission of funder invoices and expenditure reports, including all required supporting documentation.
Timely preparation and submission of budget modification requests as needed.
Monthly analysis of general ledger, ensuring expenses are properly allocated to grants and account codes, and process adjustments as needed.
Preparation of documents for program and agency-wide audits, assist in the preparation of financial reports.
Work closely with program management on budgets, budget modifications, and other financial requests.
Communicate clearly and accurately in both verbal and written mode concisely describing problems, and solutions related to invoicing, budgets and budget modifications, and reporting.
Perform duties in accordance with CASES’ mission, cultural competency, anti-discriminatory and other policies, and procedures.
Any other duties may be required.
What we are looking for:
Experience with federal, state, and city grant administration and accounting.
Experience with NYC’s HHS Passport and VIPS systems.
Strong knowledge of accounting software, Sage Intaact a plus.
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field, and a minimum of 2 years of work experience.
Intermediate knowledge of Excel: organizing data for pivot tables, v-lookups, sum ifs, and other excel formulas required.
Detail oriented, highly organized.
Excellent communication (written and oral)
Strong analytical skills.
Ability to multi-task, strong follow through skills.
Ability to work independently, follow instructions and meet deadlines.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office software including Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
