Bulldog Ventures Ltd / Chatham Imports is seeking a Staff Accountant for its management companies of affiliated wine and spirits and rental property businesses located at 245 5th Ave, New York, NY 10016.
This position will report to the Controllers and Chief Financial Officer and perform a wide range of activities, general accounting functions, monthly financial close, project management, administrative and office support activities for the Company to facilitate the efficient operation of the organization.
Primary Job Tasks and Responsibilities
* Assist with preparing Monthly Financial Close
* Prepare financial analysis, process requests for information and data from multiple systems
* Review and verify invoices against all legal compliance documents, check requests and set up invoices for payment
* Prepare and process electronic transfers and payments
* Reconcile accounts payable - Reviewing weekly check batches inputted, wire payment input & expense report review and approval
* Gather and organize required documentation such as receipts, invoices, proof of deliveries, and purchase orders
* Assist processing weekly payroll
* Assist with AR administration
* Assist with various Government filings
* Reconciling inventory (raw materials and finished goods)
* Track expenses, review the accuracy of expenses, and process expense reports.
* Clerical responsibilities including mailing checks, making deposits etc.

Education and Experience
* Bachelor’s degree in accounting and a minimum of 2 years relevant experience
* Excellent communication skills - written and verbal
* Excellent analytical, troubleshooting and innovative problem-solving skills
* Computer skills and knowledge of relevant software
* Experience with SAGE accounting software a plus
* Able to work proficiently with Microsoft Word and Excel
* Knowledge of general accounting practices including accrual accounting
* Knowledge of clerical and administrative procedures and systems such as filing and record keeping

Pay: $75,000.
