*Who We Are Looking For: *
We are seeking a skilled Financial Controller to ensure the accuracy of financial data, manage reporting processes, and support strategic financial decision-making.
In this role, you will oversee day-to-day Accounting Department operations, maintain internal controls, and drive efficiencies to support company growth.
This role reports to the VP of Finance.
*What You’ll Be Doing: *
Financial Management:
o Enforce financial policies and procedures to protect assets, maintain internal controls, ensuring compliance with GAAP and regulatory standards.
o Guide financial decisions to maximize profitability and returns on assets.
Accounting Operations:
o Ensure timely and accurate posting of financial data, including Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and payroll.
o Manage accruals, journal entries, and other financial transactions.
o Validate bank reconciliations and credit card reconciliations to maintain accuracy.
o Review transactions, resolve issues, and create standard operating procedures (SOPs) for consistent posting.
· Reporting and Analysis:
o Provide accurate and timely financial information to support strategic planning and decision-making processes.
o Prepare weekly, monthly, and ad-hoc reports as required.
o Participate in audits by CPAs and other external entities.
o Conduct internal audits to test internal controls and accuracy of ERP data.
o Assist the VP of Finance in financial planning and analysis (FP&A) activities, including costing, forecasting, and budgeting.
Team Leadership and Development:
o Proactively anticipate deadlines, prioritize, and create plans to meet objectives and distribute workload accordingly.
o Inspire and motivate the accounting team, linking their daily tasks to the company's success and fostering a sense of value and satisfaction in their work.
o Provide training and guidance for the professional growth of team members.
· Problem-Solving:
o Ensure the Accounting department resolves all customer or vendor issues promptly while maintaining good relations to prevent disruptions in deliveries or services.
o Analyze errors, conduct root cause analysis, determine corrective actions, and implement preventive measures, focusing on results and desired outcomes.
*Your Areas of Knowledge: *
· Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
· 8+ years of direct accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing.
· 4+ years of experience as a Controller or Accounting Manager in a small to mid-sized company.
· Proficiency in GAAP and experience with “*SAP Business One**”* and QuickBooks.
· Strong leadership, management, accountability, problem-solving, and communication skills.
· Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and efficiency.
