Overview:
The Staff Accountant maintains financial reports, records, and general ledgers.
This position is responsible for preparing accounting activities related to the Soccer United Marketing Digital Media financials, specifically focusing on Content and Distribution Revenue, media production and data technology expenses.
In addition, this person would assist with reporting and additional accounting support for the finance department.
Responsibilities:
Assist in month end close and preparation of financial statements
Manage balance sheet reconciliations and account analyses
Process monthly journal entries and accruals
Review trial balances monthly to verify proper coding of expenses
Project-based settlement accounting and management
Assist in department budget management, preparation, and projection process
Assist in year-end audit
Research variances to budget
Review and process monthly corporate card statement
Work closely with various departments and FP&A team
Additional responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
3 years of experience in accounting/finance
Required Skills
Superior organization, project management skills and attention to detail
High level of commitment to quality work product and organizational ethics, integrity and compliance
Ability to work effectively in a fast paced, team environment
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate, both written and verbally
Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
Proficiency with Hyperion Essbase/SmartView
Demonstrated decision making and problem-solving skills
Detail-oriented with the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines with minimal supervision
Desired Skills
Previously worked with Concur and Microsoft Dynamics GP (Great Plains)
Experience in production/media accounting
Knowledge and interest of the sport of soccer
Total Rewards
Starting Base Salary $62,400 – 68,000.
MLS/SUM base salaries are contingent upon several factors including individual qualifications, market financials, and operational business needs.
