JOB DESCRIPTION
As a part of the Infrastrure Platforms engineering team as an Infrastructure Engineer/Oracle DBA, you will be part of an elite group of professionals in a globally recognized financial institution where infrastructure is crucial.
As an Infrastructure Engineer III, Oracle Database Engineer, at JPMorgan Chase within Corporate Sector Infrastructure Platform's AWM Affinity Team, you will be responsible for supporting our existing database infrastructure and contributing to our modernization efforts as we transition to modern technology.
Job responsibilities
Administers large database environment (multi-Terabyte) and ensure 24x7 uptime for the application.
Resolves incidents by identifying the issue and applying resolution in a timely matter.
Performs Oracle database diagnostic analysis.
Applies technical knowledge and problem-solving methodologies to projects with a focus on improving efficiency and scalability.
Partners with application and infrastructure teams to identify potential risks and govern remediation statuses.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
Formal training or certification on infrastructure engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience.
Strong knowledge of Oracle versions 19c in a Linux environment
Strong knowledge of RMAN database backup and recovery experiences
Strong SQL performance tuning skillset
Strong knowledge of Active Dataguard management and resiliency operations
Strong knowledge of one or more scripting languages (Python, Perl, PL/SQL, UNIX Shell)
Knowledge of Golden Gate replication
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
Knowledge of infrastructure disciplines such as hardware, networking, and storage engineering
Experience with multiple cloud technologies with the ability to operate in and migrate across public and private clouds.
AWS experience is preferred.
