What’s the job?
To build and manage our NYC office and related professional face2face fundraising campaigns (currently Greenpeace), oversee all staff and the collection of high volumes of long-term donations for the assigned charity (monthly and quarterly donations).
Who is Oak Tree Canvassing? Oak Tree Canvassing (OTC) is a new, startup company where we work as a team to fundraise in-person for awesome causes that matter to us.
We strive to change the world for the better! OTC is in three cities (and growing!) and is partnered with the largest environmental and human rights charities including, International Rescue Committee and Greenpeace.

No dress code, no script, and tools to THRIVE! What are the qualifications? Applicants will not be considered without: - Proven leadership abilities in face2face fundraising industry; and - Proven ability to train and manage a team of face2face fundraisers.

Additional Qualifications: - Experience in management of fundraisers or related sales team; - Self-motivated with ambition to meet and exceed sales goals; - Proven sales skills; - Influencing and negotiating skills; - Able to remain calm, think clearly, and work under pressure and meet deadlines; - Honest, transparent, and mature in all communication, with a keen sense of humor.
- Ability to maintain a positive attitude and be flexible; - Ability to work with a team; and - Demonstrating a high level of emotional intelligence; able to manage own emotional state, be resilient in the face of rejection and/or adversity and disciplined in standards.
Who do I report to? NYC Campaign Director What’s the pay and benefits? - This position is performance-based with a competitive and unique pay structure so you can achieve unlimited financial compensation and personal growth! - Base pay: $20/hour plus bonuses - Ability to make an extra $325 daily in bonuses - Base pay may be increased after 60 days of exceptional work - Monetary and travel incentives; including frequent travel trips to our other locations in Florida - You will be part of higher leadership in a start-up company, providing an avenue to make this your own and grow as high as possible! What else is expected? - Attend public and private sites, which may be indoors or outdoors, and are allocated in advance by OTC management to actively engage with members of the public to recruit new committed donors for the ‘For Purpose’ clients of OTC; - Consistently exceed the required targets set by Campaign Director; this will normally be maintaining a team average of at minimum .
20 average/week within agreed quality metrics; - Conduct and enforce team talks and team trainings per day including review of performance, games, and charity facts to inspire motivation and retention-based performance across the entire team; - Represent OTC, its clients, and yourself in a professional and informed manner at all times, and in accordance with the relevant industry and client Codes of Conduct; - Manage own emotional state; retain positive mindset to ensure potential donors are engaged with enthusiasm at all times; - Provide accurate reporting and administration in line with Campaign Director requirements; ensure all paper and electronic records are completed accurately; - Provide own means of reaching agreed work sites with all necessary equipment.
You will be expected to travel to sites on a daily basis, and to be proactive in your journey planning; - Be available to work unsocial hours including weekends, public holidays and some evenings as the nature of the role requires this; - Attend, punctually, each site training events and meetings as required; - Assist in the selection, training, and recruitment of new Canvassers and other Team Leaders; - Provide extensive mentoring and ongoing support to Canvassers in their team, and in the wider OTC company; - Provide fundraising training for Canvassers; - Ensure that levels of motivation, morale, and productivity within the team and leadership are maintained at the highest levels; - Deputizing for the Campaign Director when required; - Assist, if requested, in performance management processes for team; - Liaise with other Team Leaders and staff to ensure the smooth running of the canvassing activity and to actively look for new venues and locations in which to operate.
What other demands and information should I be aware of? - You must have access to own transport (car or public transit) - The role includes carrying equipment, walking to and from sites, and standing for long periods of time; - You will be expected to work outside and exposed to extreme weather conditions; - A full-time Team Leader works 35 hours/week - The working week is from Monday-Sunday from 10am-6pm; - You are required to collect a minimum of 2 new committed donors per 7 hour shift within agreed quality metrics; equivalent to a .
