The anticipated salary range for this role is between $180,000.

The specific salary offered to an applicant will be based on their individual qualifications, experiences, and an analysis of the current compensation paid in their geography and the market for similar roles at the time of hire.
The role may also be eligible for an annual discretionary incentive award.

Role Description SMBC Capital Markets is a derivatives trading company since 1988 based in New York City, with offices in London and Hong Kong.
SMBC CM is an established derivatives dealer with a broad product portfolio, with specific emphasis on interest rates and foreign exchange.
The SMBC’s Capital Markets' Electronic Trading Group in the Front Office is actively looking for talents to meet the demand.
In particular, we are hiring a Senior level front-office developer for the Electronic Trading Desk.
We are seeking a candidate with the potential to build productive business relationships with colleagues and the customers of the SMBC group.
The candidate must have a strong interest in a career in capital markets.
This position will closely work with traders and strategists to develop advanced electronic trading tools, system and algorithms to enhance our market-making/ hedging/ execution efficiency.
Role Objectives 1.
Design, develop & manage algorithmic trading systems to enhance market making, risk management and execution efficiency.

Design front office tools for improving existing workflows.
- Bachelor’s Degree or Master's required with a strong computer science/ computer engineering background.
- 8-10 years of prior experience within a similar role preferred, but not required - Strong computer programming experience is required.
- The candidate must be able to communicate and work with traders and strategists.
- The candidate would constantly like to try new technology & new solutions.
Qualifications and Skills Java, JavaScript, Python, Typescript experience is a plus.
Experience in network socket programming.
Extensive experience in middleware messaging system like tibco rv/ ems.
Strong understanding of object serialization technology, Extensive experience in code optimization.
