About Credit
Fortress’s Credit business was launched in 2002 by Pete Briger.
Today, the Fortress Credit team consists of over 500 professionals and is focused on investing globally, primarily in undervalued assets and distressed and illiquid credit investments.
The investment team, led by Pete Briger, Dean Dakolias, Drew McKnight and Josh Pack, has a long and established track record investing throughout a number of credit and distressed cycles around the world.
With over 100 professionals dedicated to asset management in 14 geographic locations, the Fortress Credit team also has the experience and expertise to manage and service assets with operational complexity.
About the Position
Responsibilities:
Assist in the proactive asset management of a portfolio of opportunistic commercial real estate debt investments across various property types including office, hotel, retail, condo, and multifamily.
Review and analyze business plans, loan documents, lease approvals, construction draws, leasing activity and monthly property operating performance
Interact with Borrowers and operating partners to ensure compliance with loan documents, debt covenants and operating agreements.
Analyze new real estate debt investment opportunities within the Credit Fund business
Underwrite and value real estate (all asset classes) by building property level financial models and performing DCF and/or direct capitalization analysis.
Assist is preparation of Investment Committee memos and participate in deal presentations to senior management
Perform property level Due Diligence and market studies
Stay current on financial markets and competitive trends and use this expertise in the due diligence and evaluation process
Qualifications:
At least two to three years of experience working in the real estate finance industry; preferably Real Estate Investment Banking
A Bachelor’s degree from a top university with a GPA of at least 3.

Proven ability to multitask and quickly understand new concepts
Strong quantitative, written and oral communication skills
Advanced knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, and ARGUS Enterprise
The base salary range for this position is expected to be between $85,000 and $100,000.
The base salary range proposed for this role has been set forth to comply with local law, but salary is only one element of the total compensation for this role.
The base salary range suggested above does not include compensation elements such as bonuses, overtime and deferred cash (each of which are applicable in certain roles), benefits, perquisites, and company contributions to employee 401(k) accounts.
Such other pay components often result in total compensation materially exceeding base salary for a particular role.
Total compensation as well as base salary for a role depend in part upon individual performance, years of service, experience, geographic considerations, the performance and the needs of particular business units, company performance, and general market conditions.
