*Job Overview:*
● Create the financial statements and supporting information systems to include budgeting, projections, financial reporting, work in progress schedule, tax planning, cash flow management and backlog.
● Implement and coordinate changes and improvements in automated financial and management information systems.
● Ensure compliance with local, state and federal income, sales and payroll tax requirements, as well as union requirements.
● Oversee the approval and processing of requisitions/invoices, payments to subcontractors, purchasing, department budgets, payroll, ledger, account maintenance and data entry.
● Coordinate the preparation of financial statements, financial reports including project reports – WIP and backlog.
● Develop and implement finance, accounting, billing and auditing procedures.
● Establish and maintain appropriate internal control safeguards.
● Interact with project managers and chief estimator to provide consultative support to planning initiatives through financial and management information analyses, reports and recommendations.
● Ensure financial records and systems are maintained in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.
● Prepare and maintain cash flow reports.
● Analyze cash flow, cost controls and expenses to guide management and owner.
Analyze financial results to pinpoint potential weak areas.
● Establish and implement short- and long-range departmental goals, objectives, policies and operating procedures.
● Represent externally to government agencies, banks, sureties and insurance brokers and carriers.
● Coordinate external audits with outside accounting firm and governmental agencies or unions
● Recruit, train, supervise and evaluate accounting department including payroll, AP, AR.

* *Financial Reporting:*
* Prepare and present accurate financial reports for construction projects.
* Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
* Provide financial insights to project stakeholders.
* *Contract Management:*
* Review construction contracts to understand financial implications.
* Monitor contract compliance and address any financial discrepancies.
* Work closely with legal and procurement teams on contract negotiations.
* *Cash Flow Management:*
* Manage project cash flows, including invoicing and collection.
* Analyze cash flow projections and address any potential issues.
* Optimize working capital for construction projects.
* *Audit Support:*
* Assist in financial audits related to construction projects.
* Provide documentation and support for audit inquiries.
* Implement audit recommendations for process improvements.
*Qualifications:*
● 7 to 10 years of accounting experience in the construction industry
● Bachelor’s degree in accounting
● Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred
● Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills
● Strong leadership skills
● Strong analytical/technology skills, with a focus on accuracy, and attention to detail
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $75,000.
