The Broker-Dealer Accounting/Regulatory Reporting team for Bernstein Institutional Services is in search of an Intermediate Staff Accountant, Broker Dealer Accounting to join their newly formed U.
S.
Controller’s team.
The candidate will report to the Manager, Broker Dealer Accounting and Reporting and will be involved in the monthly and quarterly close of the Company’s introducing broker dealer.
The position is primarily responsible for accounting, management reporting and analysis related to our broker-dealer.
What You'll Do:
Prepare accounting entries related to our broker dealers.
Assist with preparing monthly and quarterly analytical reviews and reconciliations.
Assist with preparation of audited financial statements and provide information for the Company’s SEC reporting requirements.
Liaise with various internal (i.
e.
, trading, sales, legal and operations) and external constituents as needed.
Maintain reporting procedures to comply with internal control requirements.
Monitor and project the firms cash balances for treasury management purposes to aid in ensuring the firm has adequate cash for sustaining operations at all times.
Assist in special projects as required.
What We're Looking For:
2 to 5 years of broker-dealer experience required.
Bachelor’s degree in accounting
Series 27 – FINOP, or must obtain license within six months.
Proficient in Excel
Knowledge of SEC broker-dealer accounting and regulations required.
Thorough knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and procedures
Well-organized with the ability to prioritize.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, collaborative by nature
Attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
Strong clients focus with the ability to respond timely.
Be able to work in a global organization and oversee work produced in offshore locations.

In accordance with applicable law, the minimum and maximum base annual salary for this role is as follows:
Base Salary Range: $75,000 to $110,000
Actual base salaries may vary based on factors including but not limited to education, training, experience, past performance, and other job-related factors.
