The specific salary offered to an applicant will be based on their individual qualifications, experiences, and an analysis of the current compensation paid in their geography and the market for similar roles at the time of hire.
The role may also be eligible for an annual discretionary incentive award.

Role Description The Money Markets and Fixed Income Group of the SMBC Americas division is responsible for the execution and monitoring of short-term debt instruments, including but not limited to certificates of deposit, commercial paper, treasury bills, customer deposit and loans.
Reporting to the Money Market Desk Chief, the candidate will execute on these products, as well as maintain position records, conduct analytics, and maintain documentation of activity.
The candidate will become a core member of the group and operate in an exciting, fast-paced team environment.
The Money Markets and Fixed Income Group sits in the Treasury Function of the New York Branch within the SMBC Americas division.
The incumbent will support the Money Market Desk Chief as an independent contributor and be relied upon for critical trade execution.
Additionally, the candidate will be expected to effectively collaborate with colleagues, demonstrate ongoing curiosity about financial markets, and conduct activity with a risk-owner mindset.
Role Objectives Manage intraday flow of funds, which includes but not limited to pricing and execution funding transactions of inter-banks, branches, subsidiaries across the three regions North America, EMEA and Asia.
Management and reconciliation of the primary USD account at key financial market utilities and secondaries at sub-custodian or correspondent banks Management and reconciliation of non-USD currencies which includes pricing and funding through branches or entering into FX or C/S trades.
Quotes interest rates for loans and deposits to a wide range of bank customers while recognizing pricing methods.
Develop an understanding of short-term funding markets and associated products including FX swaps, Currency Swap, repo and other applicable money market instruments.
Develop an understanding of what cause movements in interest rates which affect the decision on pricing.
Develop an understanding of the firm's balance sheet in order to manage asset and liability effectively.
Identify and drive process improvements and automations to increase operational efficiency while enhancing controls and improving the risk environment, including organizing and maintaining documentation.
Ability to interact with and build relationships with people from different departments to understand the end-to-end processes of transactions, and to identify risks and opportunities from an intraday perspective.
Compliance with the firm's code of conduct and adhere to proper controls policies and procedures which are applicable.
Complies with all FRB, State and Federal regulations.
Qualifications and Skills Functional knowledge of payment systems (Chips, Fed Wire, ACH…) Functional knowledge of money market products such as Eurodollars, Federal Funds, Certificate of Deposit and Commercial Paper.
Time management skills, ability to work under pressure, team-work is a must.
Detail-oriented and able to multi-task in a fast paced environment with frequently changing priorities and to meet deadlines under pressure.
Ability to understand how FED,ECB,BOJ,BOC,BOE monetary policies apply to Money Markets.
Ability to demonstrate analytical abilities.
Proficient in technical skills (Bloomberg and Microsoft Office Suite) Take initiative and is driven to excel in all aspects of the role and seek for improvements.
2-5 years of comparable or relevant experience.
