We’re seeking a future team member for the role of Public Finance/Healthcare Credit Banker to join our Institutional Lending team.
This role is in New York, NY - Hybrid.
In this role, you’ll make an impact in the following ways: Responsible for all credit facility components including origination, underwriting and documentation for minimally complex credit facilities/credit relationships.
Monitors existing credit portfolios, including loan reviews.
Works with clients and relationship leads to understand and assess credit needs.
Communicate with Agents on syndicated facilities.
Assists with marketing and client presentation information/materials.
Solves unusual problems that are low risk in nature within the context of established policies and procedures.
Generates new credit and non-credit business opportunities for the bank.
No direct reports.
May provide guidance to more junior staff.
Contributes to the achievement of team objectives.
To be successful in this role, we’re seeking the following: Bachelor’s degree in finance or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
3-5 years of experience Industry Knowledge: Understanding of Healthcare and Public Finance Industry dynamics, regulations, and trends to assess credit risk accurately.
Proficient in evaluating credit risk, including assessing borrower’s financial stability, repayment capacity, and collateral.
Effective communication skills to articulate credit recommendations and findings to internal stakeholders and clients.
Capacity to identify and address potential credit issues proactively, including structuring deals to mitigate risks.
Knowledge of banking regulations and compliance requirements relevant to healthcare and public finance lending.
Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with healthcare and public finance clients and internal teams.
Collaboration with colleagues across departments such as legal, compliance, finance, risk management to ensure comprehensive credit analysis and decision-making.

BNY Mellon assesses market data to ensure a competitive compensation package for our employees.
The base salary for this position is expected to be between $56,000 and $105,000 per year at the commencement of employment.
However, base salary if hired will be determined on an individualized basis, including as to experience and market location, and is only part of the BNYM total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, short and long-term incentive packages, and Company-sponsored benefit programs.
This position is at-will and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, change in geographic location, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
