Our clients include foundations, industry, NGOs, government agencies, academic institutions and product development partnerships.
At present, GHS has approximately 50+ staff and interns in the NY office and approximately 60+ staff and interns in our country offices including New Delhi, Rio de Janeiro, Beijing & Nairobi.
An additional 50+ part-time GHS consultants are working in the US, India, Europe, Africa and Brazil.
About the Position
The Accounts Payable Specialist, reporting to the Director of Accounting, provides accounting support for the operations team at GHS.
The ideal candidate is someone who has accounts payable experience previous and works well with deadlines.
The position will begin in January 2024 and will continue until December 2024 with an option to extend the contract.
Note that this is a part-time position that requires the candidate to come into the office in Midtown, NYC up to 2 days a week.
The hourly pay range for this role is $20 - $30 per hour.
This role is an opportunity to work in a fast-paced consulting firm in the global health space, with the chance to work with colleagues across international offices and have a window into a global accounting operation.
Specific responsibilities will include:
Accounts Payable – Responsible for supporting the processing of accounts payable, including but not limited to:
Managing incoming accounts payable and tracking payment dates
Ensuring appropriate authorization and documentation
Ensuring prompt payments to vendors, consultants, and staff
Updating payment trackers
Posting in the general ledger and setting up payments in bank for review
Bank Reconciliations – support the accounting team in the management of the bank reconciliation process, including tracking of wires/ACH payments and marking of funds received.
Qualifications of the Ideal Candidate:
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field
Proficient with MS Office, with intermediate-level Excel skills
Highly organized and ability to multitask
Works well with tight deadlines
Demonstrated ability to work independently and elevate concerns
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
Experience with NetSuite, a plus
