About the Opportunity We are seeking to hire a Manager of Domestic Indirect Taxes who will report to the Senior Manager, Tax - Global Compliance.
This position will advise WeWork on U.

sales/use and indirect tax impacts of proposed business initiatives as well as manage sales/use, personal property and other indirect tax compliance along with tax special projects.
This position will have the responsibility to oversee and mentor the Domestic Indirect Tax team.
Responsibilities Perform sales and use tax research/analysis for major business changes/issues as they arise, giving actionable recommendations and calculating appropriate reserves, if necessary Work with business units to improve tax systems, resolve tax disputes, and communicate proper taxability of products Research, analyze and communicate proposed and enacted changes in sales/use tax laws and direct any tax matrices updates and tax system changes Manage the sales and use tax compliance outsource engagement and related matters Manage journal entries and GL reconciliations related to sales and use tax accounts Manage personal property tax filings, accruals and payments Manage U.

Sales & Use Tax and Personal Property Tax Audits Manage indirect tax group to properly prioritize projects, evaluate workloads, manage day-to-day deliverables/deadlines and develop personnel to grow their technical indirect tax expertise Maintain complete and up-to-date Indirect Tax policies and procedures to optimize across department and business efficiencies Manage tax registrations for all US legal entities, including review of compliance where established nexus exists Interact with the tax provision, tax planning and direct tax teams on a daily basis Assist the wider tax group, with special projects and tax planning initiatives Qualifications 8+ years of relevant experience in public accounting, a corporate tax department and /or a law firm Bachelor’s Degree Required CPA or MST preferred but not required Must have strong knowledge of general indirect state tax laws and concepts Significant experience in both indirect tax advisory providing guidance to WeWork on indirect tax aspects of new business, acquisitions/divestitures & tax law changes, and indirect tax compliance requirements Must have audit experience in sales/use tax, personal property tax, and business licenses a plus High proficiency with data analysis and advanced computer knowledge (Excel); Alteryx experience is preferred Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate complex tax concepts to non-tax colleagues Strong project management and presentation skills Must build strong collaborative working relationships, internally and externally Self-motivator and able to work independently Strong work ethic with an ability to multi-task, work under tight deadlines and deliver in a timely manner Work effectively with outside service providers Compensation & Benefits Base Pay: $105,000 - $140,000 USD Incentive Compensation: WeWork employees are eligible to participate in an incentive plan specific to their role.
