is seeking an Accounting Analyst to join our Finance and Accounting team in New York.
The candidate will have various Product Control responsibilities related to the Firm’s various trading desks in addition to Financial Accounting responsibilities to support the month-end financial statement close process for the Firm and its subsidiaries.
Responsibilities:
Prepare and distribute daily desk-level Equities and Fixed Income Profit & Loss Statements (P&L), position reconciliations and reporting for senior management
Prepare monthly journal entries, month-end accruals and desk-level P&L statements
Assist in daily and monthly accounting and reporting processes for the Firm’s trading desks, subsidiaries and other newly developing lines of business to support the close process
Assist with financial statement preparation for separate legal entities/subsidiaries
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and validate financial data
Prepare materials to satisfy internal and external audit requests
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
Working experience with U.
S.
GAAP reporting and in a SOX control environment; IFRS experience and willingness to obtain the Series 99 license is a plus
2-4 years of relevant accounting experience
Strong analytical skills and the ability to multitask
Excellent communication skills; verbal, written and interpersonal
Proficiency with Microsoft Office; Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skillset
Strong commitment to accuracy and attention to detail to ensure quality work
Compensation:
For job postings in New York City, Oppenheimer is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the salary range for this role.
This salary range is specific to the City of New York and takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making salary decisions including but not limited to your skills, qualifications, experience, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
A reasonable estimate of the current base salary range is $60,000.
