Role Description: Joining our client as an Assistant Tax Counsel, Vice President entails performing a comprehensive range of tax attorney functions, including the review of documentation and transactions, analysis of new tax legislation, and assistance with tax compliance and audits.
Role Objectives: Reviewing legal documentation from a tax perspective and providing transactional support.
Conducting domestic and international tax research, including the examination of tax treaties and permanent establishment (PE) issues.
Offering guidance on US withholding tax matters to tax staff and front office personnel.
Collaborating on tax planning initiatives and assisting with tax structuring requirements.
Providing support for tax and financial audits of various US entities in response to IRS/State Tax inquiries.
Addressing ad hoc corporate tax inquiries from front office, senior management, and tax compliance colleagues.
Requirements Qualifications and Skills: Proficiency in tax law, particularly international tax, financial services taxation, and withholding tax.
Knowledge of tax structuring and planning strategies.
Demonstrated ownership of responsibilities, proactive follow-up, and effective customer relationship management.
