Position Overview: The Budget Analyst is responsible for preparing monthly and annual financial statements for an assigned portfolio of condo/coop communities located throughout New York City.
This role works closely with the property manager and resident board members to achieve the community's financial goals.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
Responsible for preparing and presenting budgets for assigned portfolio of HOA/Condo/coop buildings.
Responsible for creating and updating special assessments or capital assessments budgets.
Collaborate with management and onsite team as necessary to ensure all budget assumptions are accurately captured and presented in the budget.
Collaborate with Financial Reporting team on significant budget to actual variances to assist with variance explanation to the board as needed.
Communicating with the Board Treasurer and Board President regarding the financial position
Strong working knowledge of month end reporting process, budgets, general ledger, trial balance, accruals (on a cash basis), preparing custom reports and cash flow projections.
Create ad hoc reporting as needed to support the budget process.
Preparing and presenting budgets
Review new account financial files that have been transferred to AKAM to ensure budgets are accurately captured with relevant details.
Assist with the annual audits as necessary.
Assist with financial reviews as necessary.
Special projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
Must have a bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting
At least 2 years of Financial Analyst or Property Accountant experience within the real estate/or property management industry
Experience in dealing with the monthly financial statements of HOAs, coops/condos specifically
Must have strong proficiency in Excel and MS Suite programs
BJ Murray or Yardi software experience is a plus
