About the Role & Team
Disney Entertainment is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to join the ABC News’ Consolidation Team! A successful candidate will handle financial analysis and reporting related to business support areas such as Consumer Insights, Communications, Advertising & Promotions, and Rights & Clearances, along with support of overall ABC News P&L consolidations.
As a group, we work closely with the entire ABC News Finance team and partner with various ABC News Executives.
We function as the Finance Business partner(s) for overhead and executive cost centers.
Disney Entertainment includes the company’s full portfolio of entertainment media and content businesses globally, including streaming.
What You Will Do
A qualified candidate will be responsible for producing high-quality strategic analyses to support decision-making across the division.
This includes, but is not limited to ongoing cost analysis, gathering/analyzing data for budget/forecasts/long range plans, owning specific cross-team analysis and reporting processes (related to headcount, T&E, allocations, etc.
) and working on ad hoc projects to drive business performance.
Financial Reporting / Planning
Assist in quarterly close process: in-depth analysis, accrual preparations, and commentary
Coordinate with Revenue Planning for sales forecasts/budgets and ratings indicators
Provide financial support: develop reporting tools to facilitate business analysis, identify and help teams implement cost saving recommendations, and present quarterly results to senior leads
Assist with preparation of annual budget, forecasts, and long range plans: build detailed budgets, analyzing pacing, input data into SAP and other tools, and presents to management
Business Planning & Decision Support across ABC News
Partner with other Disney Entertainment finance teams to improve processes across the finance team
Develop reporting tools and dashboards to analyze spending, identify areas for cost efficiencies, proactively lead process changes, and track improvements
Ensure data integrity, quality, and effectiveness in all work outputs
Additional ad hoc projects across the News portfolio might include providing support for new initiatives, programming changes, and other business processes
Required Qualifications & Skills
Minimum of 3+ years relevant work experience, prior media & entertainment experience is a plus!
Previous experience with consolidation, budgeting, forecast planning and variance analysis
Candidate must be meticulous, well-organized, and results driven
Proficiency in Excel to perform financial modeling and quantitative analysis
Ability to utilize detailed data sets and succinctly translate in a simple, effective manner
Strong communication skills (oral, written and business presentations) and ability to interact/collaborate with many levels of individuals within the organization
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and be flexible to handle multiple priorities
Preferred Qualifications
Prior media/television/broadcast experience
Experience with financial reporting tools (Cognos TM1 and SAP a plus)
Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related field
The hiring range for this position in NY is $97,170.
00 – $130,300.
00 per year.
The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
