Job Description Debt management Track debt instruments across the entire real estate group On an ongoing basis, ensure the debt management system includes the most current and complete information, taking into account new investments and refinancings On a quarterly basis, prepare files and tables with debt details at multiple levels of consolidation within Brookfield Assist with managing subsidiary teams in respect of quarterly submissions, queries and reconciling detail per debt management system with accounting systems Run reports and prepare analyses to assess effectiveness of hedge positions related to interest rate exposure Collect and review covenant calculations and sensitivity analyses from subsidiaries around the globe, tracking at-risk covenants and mitigants Collect and monitor information about new and existing guarantees from across the group at the investment-, fund- and corporate-levels.
Analyze the potential liquidity impact from these guarantees on the group Prepare and analyze various consolidated covenant calculations Prepare debt analyses and related presentations for management Consolidate and prepare debt-related financial statement disclosures Assist with an ongoing project to expand the use and functionality of our debt management systems to cover covenant and guarantee information associated with our debt instruments Financial statement analysis, including variance analysis, currency analysis and analysis by investment to support the quarterly forecast and annual business plan processes Identify unusual or unexpected variances for follow-up Clearly summarize variance explanations in writing and verbally to the team Prepare files and tables for ad hoc analyses that are clear and easy to understand, leveraging reports and information from various systems Run reports and prepare analyses to support hedging activities related to foreign currency equity exposure Prepare internal calculations of credit ratings models Experience with Bloomberg Terminal, Quantum, OneStream, Chatham or automation of data in another system is a plus Candidate Profile: Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or related field with 1-3 years of work experience required High attention to detail Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills Strong interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills Ability to work independently and in a team setting Demonstrate curiosity and desire to be a “student of business” (self-learning and asking the right questions) Always bring a positive, approachable, and “can-do” attitude to workplace Ability to adapt to new challenges in a dynamic and fast-paced environment Experience with hedging instruments and strategies welcome Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills Experience with Bloomberg Terminal, Quantum, OneStream, Chatham or automation of data in another system is a plus CPA preferred Salary Range: $90k - $100k Our compensation structure is comprised of a base salary and a short-term incentive program (cash bonus).
Cash compensation tends to vary based on geography to account for local market conditions and is set to be market competitive.
