leveraged finance practice with top-tier experience in all aspects of the US leveraged finance market, including syndicated loans, privately placed (or direct lending) loan facilities, high yield bond financings and investment grade debt.
Our practice is supported by pre-eminent U.
S.
and global Debt Capital Markets, Equity Capital Markets, Private Equity, Securitization and Restructuring teams.
This collective expertise combined with in-depth sector insights, makes us one of very few firms with the ability to advise on state of the art and complex U.

The Leveraged Finance paralegal is responsible for providing excellent client service, technical, and project support in accordance with A&O’s best practices: This role works under the guidance of the Leveraged Finance partners as well as the US paralegal manager.

Job description
Context
This role involves acting as a reliable point of contact as it relates to the Leveraged Finance partners and associates.
The paralegal support function is crucial to the day-to-day success of the business and this individual will play an essential part in this model.
Role and responsibilities
Assist attorneys on a vast array of projects and tasks, which may include, but are not limited to, the following:
Conducting in-depth legal research on domestic and international topics
Writing brief summaries on relevant topics or findings from legal research
Participating in due diligence investigations by reviewing documents and providing organizational assistance
Assisting with closings and the preparation of closing sets to be sent to the client and other parties
Interacting with service providers to submit filings and order documents
Drafting client-facing memos and presentations on a variety of topics
Working on pro bono matters as opportunities become available
Team
This position reports directly to the Leveraged Finance partners, but also works closely with other members of staff, including but not limited to the wider paralegal teams.
Key requirements
Four-year bachelor's degree with strong academic background
Excellent organizational, communication, research, time management, and writing skills
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Ability to interact professionally with clients and employees at all levels of the organization
Strong Word, Excel, and PDF skills
Familiarity with iManage or a similar tool a plus but not required
Demonstrated interest in the Leveraged Finance or banking space would be a plus, but not required
The annualized base salary range for this position is $60,000 to $65,000.
The actual base salary offered will depend on the overall qualifications of the individual applicant for the position and other job-related factors permitted by law.
