Job Summary
Compliance Analyst is responsible for administrative functions of the AML Financial Investigations Unit (FIU) for Transaction Monitoring, including Suspicious Activity Reports (“SAR”) related responsibilities, Head Office reporting requirements and Transaction Monitoring case reviews.
Additional ad-hoc duties will be requested.
Analyst is responsible to complete assigned work in a timely manner, collaborate and maintain effective communication within FIU and other departments.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities Responsible for conducting SAR Quality Control (QC) and timely filings of SARs with FinCEN.
This is a hybrid position, and the incumbent will be expected to also review transitions for potentially suspicious activity and perform AML-related investigations.
Organize for Case Discussion meetings for SAR and SAR filings, including maintenance and retrieval of all supporting documentation as needed.
This will include support, backup documentation, correspondence, and logs.
Assist with information sharing between various stakeholders, including preparing of reporting for Compliance Promotion Division (CPD) in Head Office (HO) and reporting of SAR filings to CPD HO.
Track all Suspicious Activity Notification referrals to FIU and maintain related logs.
Including tracking of filing deadlines and monitoring of the email inbox for manual case intake.
Provide ad hoc administrative support to AML/ FIU Head and to the AML FIU staff at the direction of the AML /FIU Head and Team Leads as needed for team related projects and day to day requirements.
Assist in gathering, organizing and preparation of documentation and responses required for testing, internal audit and regulatory examinations.
Assist with preparation, processing and tracking of Law Enforcement (LE) Requests as well as 314(a) and 314(b) requests.
Responsible for data entry and gathering, as well as preparation of various reports and presentations.
Assist with various ad-hock projects and requests.
Qualifications Work Experience/ Years of Service: Bachelor degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Economic Crime Investigations, or related field of study, from an accredited institution, or equivalent qualifications.
1-3 years experience in a large multinational financial institution, consulting firm.
CAMS certification preferred.
Demonstrates an understanding of compliance regulations, knowledge of global procedures and policies, including a core understanding of BSA/AML.
Demonstrates an understanding of the SAR process, as evidenced by 1-2 years of experience generating SAR MI (Management Information) and/or performing SAR QC functions.
Experience in dealing with bank regulators and internal/external auditors will be viewed positively.
Strong analytical and research skills with attention to detail.
Special Skills/ Technical Requirements: Strong administrative skillset with close attention to details.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including a demonstrated ability to clearly provide written reports that accurately and clearly summarize issues and present solutions in an understandable and logical manner and strong interpersonal skills.
Familiarity with external databases (ex.
Lexis-Nexis, World-Check, Dow Jones Factiva, BvD Orbis).
Proficiency using MS Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Adobe Acrobat.
Japanese language skills are a plus but not required.
The expected base salary range for this role is up to $95,000.
