Role Summary: The USPB In-Business Credit Risk Head is seeking an experienced, executive leader for the Existing Card Member Risk Head role.
This essential risk leadership position will be responsible for leading a best-in-class team that drives sustainable growth within Citi’s Risk Appetite, supported by the power of analytics, effective governance, customer focus, and strong partnerships across the enterprise.
The incumbent will manage the ECM strategies across the Retail Services’ private label, cobrand and fee products, while continuously delivering advances in analytics and credit strategies.
The individual serves as a member of the Risk Management Leadership Team and leads a team of both onshore and offshore resources.
The pace, breadth, and complexity of challenges that the Risk Management organization must address continue to expand rapidly.
The role will be responsible for appropriately assessing the dynamic evolution of consumer behavior, delivering growth through new processes and data while adhering to regulatory and policy requirements.
Key responsibilities of this position include: Manage & optimize the acquisition credit policies for a $150B+ portfolio that generates 15MM new accounts annually Partnering with the portfolio Chief Risk Officers, client teams and the marketing organization to deliver growth through broad initiatives (including new products, machine learning models, new and varied data sources and customer channels) Leading a credit review forum to evaluate and approve credit change proposals Working directly with 2nd line risk partners to evaluate changes and respond to effective challenge Building a comprehensive test and learn approach using experimental techniques to identify new customer segments, alternative data, and tools through a culture of innovation Prioritizing the book of work through by developing a strategic vision that engages a diverse group of stakeholders Partner with modeling team on new tools, machine learning and alternate data Managing a geographically dispersed team to deliver on initiatives Ensuring a consistent and strong control environment Qualifications: 15+ years of relevant risk management or financial services experience required 7+ years of people management experience, including experience as a manager of managers Possesses a complex mix of skills and leadership attributes including in-depth knowledge and experience of Cards P&L, sophisticated analytical abilities including the know-how to lead statistically advanced analyses, interface with the modeling teams on sophisticated techniques such as machine learning Demonstrated excellence in managing an analytical team - must have experience in delivering large-scale credit policy changes and communicating them to a diverse audience Ability to prioritize and project manage in a dynamic, fast-paced environment A penchant for driving execution and analytical excellence through personal examples and ability to effectively engage and inspire the team Working knowledge of the applicable laws and regulations that govern lending in a large financial institution Education Level: Bachelor's Degree, MBA/MS preferred in risk management, finance, engineering, mathematics, or statistics Leadership Competencies: Demonstrated roles of increasing accountability for P&L outcomes Experience with establishing a strategic vision and driving change to achieve business targets Strong interpersonal skills and ability to influence at all levels of management Superior leadership and team building skills, with a strong track record for attracting and developing high performing risk management talent Capable of effectively managing a significant team size dispersed across multiple geographical locations, with an ability to continually elevate performance standards - Job Family Group: Risk Management - Job Family: Credit & Portfolio Risk Management - Time Type: Full time - Primary Location: New York New York United States - Primary Location Full Time Salary Range: $250,000.
