GDEV makes corporate growth equity investments in middle market sustainable infrastructure businesses across energy transition subsectors including but not limited to solar, battery storage, hydro, energy efficiency, fleet electrification, electric vehicle charging infrastructure, microgrids, and sustainable fuels.
Job Background:
GDEV seeks to hire an assistant vice president (“AVP”) to support the fund’s senior leadership team in the evaluation of new investments as well as in the management of portfolio companies.
Given the size of the team, an AVP will be exposed to all facets of the investment process, from origination and structuring to diligence, analysis, and legal documentation.
The successful candidate will also work closely with portfolio companies to drive strategy and maximize value during the term of GDEV’s investment.
This job will be based in New York City.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities:
Screen new investment opportunities across multiple geographies and technologies within the sustainable infrastructure industry
Build and evaluate complex financial models
Conduct corporate and asset-level due diligence for new investment opportunities
Prepare investment memoranda and other documents for GDEV’s senior management team and investment committees
Monitor portfolio investments, including frequent communication with management teams and review of periodic reporting materials
Maintain and update valuation models for GDEV’s quarterly valuation process
Interact with various parts of the Greenbacker business (infrastructure investing team, technical team, accounting team, senior management) as well as with third parties such as the fund administrator, fund/transaction counsel and other service providers
Education, Experience, and Traits:
Bachelor’s Degree
3-5 years’ experience in private equity, renewable energy development, investment banking, infrastructure investing and/or project/structured finance
Industry experience in real assets / industrials, with preference for expertise specifically in power and renewable energy
Advanced Excel knowledge and ability to build and understand complex financial models
Proficiency reviewing and understanding legal contracts
Strategic thinking: proven ability to collaborate, develop, and implement effective solutions
Strong communication: ability to summarize complex analysis into succinct messages
Comfort working in-office as part of a team

The annual salary range for this position is $150,000 - $160,000 per year.
