Join us! Job Description: This job is responsible for analyzing and interpreting a client's credit worthiness, evaluating credit risks, and writing credit approval memos for annual renewals and new lending opportunities.
Key responsibilities include analyzing qualitative and quantitative data such as client's financials, projections, industry data, covenant compliance, and collateral appraisals to ensure compliance with the bank's risk appetite.
Job expectations include completing regular monitoring and underwriting tasks and supporting key internal stakeholders to achieve successful execution of new transactions.
The role sits within the Global Markets Credit ("GMC") group within the Enterprise Credit organization.
Global Markets Credit ("GMC") is responsible for ensuring robust and consistent credit underwriting for Global Markets lending activities, which includes financing facilities secured by credit related and other corporate assets.
Within GMC, the Analyst or Associate will be expected to develop subject matter expertise in US credit and CLO related financing products and perform credit and structural analysis of proposed transactions.
The Analyst or Associate will work closely with other team members, FLU, and risk partners and help drive loan growth and portfolio management with minimal oversight.
Coverage will include a portfolio of warehouse facilities, CLOs, advance rate secured loans, and loan trading lines.
Key responsibilities include: Review new business opportunities being presented by the front line, provide early feedback on structure/terms and client selection in the screening process to ensure transactions fit within risk appetite Partner with front line unit and credit officers to structure, underwrite, and document credit solutions for clients and ensure robust ongoing monitoring Preparation of underwriting materials, creation and submission of credit approval memos, and securing appropriate credit and risk approvals.
Assess the credit worthiness and loan and trading counterparties via client selection and stress scenario analysis Establish appropriate internal risk ratings for counterparties and implement accurate adjustments throughout the client's credit life cycle Engage partners including other parts of Enterprise Credit, client coverage areas, legal, and market risk as required Ongoing monitoring of transactions, including escalation of any issues Support firm-wide Enterprise Credit initiatives including adherence with administrative processes and liaise with applicable stakeholders across the firm on emerging topics as needed Analyzes client's financial performance by comparing it to past performance, projections, and industry standards Reviews financial statements, assesses the client's compliance with financial covenants, and renews risk ratings, while recommending changes as warranted Assists in the underwriting, credit risk analysis, negotiation, and closing of new transactions or existing transactions, while adhering to all relevant policies and procedures Evaluates transaction and relationship risk-adjusted profitability to facilitate the allocation of capital Builds projection models for the client (as needed) based on historical performance, industry forecasts, and other due diligence findings Required Skills: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics majors preferred 1+ years of experience in financial services preferred.
Relevant prior experience may include roles in: credit risk management, credit underwriting, structuring, loan origination, or public rating agencies.
Structured finance experience preferred Strong understanding of corporate finance and accounting concepts Candidate should exhibit strong analytical skills, personal drive, individual initiative, a sense of urgency, and responsiveness, with a desire to grow, learn, and take on increasing levels of responsibility Strong organizational, oral, and written communication skills, with ability to communicate effectively with all levels of risk, support, and business partners Proficiency with Word, Excel and PowerPoint, along with ability to quickly learn new programs and applications High level of attention to detail and collaborative mentality Desired Skills: Analytical Thinking Financial Analysis Financial Forecasting and Modeling Profitability Analysis Research Analysis Attention to Detail Business Acumen Credit and Risk Assessment Underwriting Written Communications Collaboration Critical Thinking Portfolio Analysis Prioritization Technical Documentation Shift: 1st shift (United States of America) Hours Per Week: 40
