The Baby Sitters’ Guild is the oldest childcare company in NY and has enjoyed a stellar reputation in not only the NYC community, but also nationally and abroad.
Our team is an elite group of childcare providers who have been providing childcare services to some of New York’s most prominent families, international leisure and business travelers, hotels, businesses, sports teams and large scale conferences for over 82 years! Candidates with strong credentials, presentation and commitment to children and their care are invited to apply to join our team.
Indeed all of our sitters are hired because we believe in their ability to be first rate professional caregivers! The primary roles and responsibilities include: * Caring for 1 to 2 children at a time in their home, hotel room, childcare room at a church or other event and being a nurturing, caring, safe and stable adult figure to support them in their day.
Depending on the assignment it may require more structure or it may require orchestrating a fun environment.
* Executing daily routines for children at various ages from infant to 12 years old in a playful learning environment.
Examples include but are not limited to potty training, food prep and eating, napping, playing games, outdoor activities, changing diapers, homework help, art projects, etc.
* Are careful observers and engage children in age appropriate developmental activities to stimulate play and interaction * Maintaining notes and photos of the child’s activities and accomplishments throughout the day to communicate to the parents and your supervisor * Infant and baby care experience is a must.
Required Skills: * Proficiency in daily skills and routines of kids at various ages from infant to 12 years old.
Examples include but are not limited to potty training, food prep and eating, napping, playing games, outdoor activities, changing diapers, homework help, etc.
* Additionally, you must be able to install and utilize our Time Keeping and Shift Scheduling mobile phone app on your Smartphone.
All candidates will possess the following qualities: · Customer Service - Manages difficult or emotional customer situations; Responds promptly to customer needs; Responds to requests for service and assistance; Meets commitments.

· Planning/Organizing - Prioritizes and plans work activities; Uses time efficiently.
· Professionalism - Approaches others in a tactful manner; Reacts well under pressure.
· Quality - Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness; Monitors own work to ensure quality.
· Safety and Security - Observes all safety and security procedures related to children’s well being; Reports potentially unsafe conditions to the agency.
· Adaptability - Adapts to changes in the work environment; Manages competing demands; Changes approach or method to best fit the situation; Able to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events.
· Team Player - Functions as a team player and contributes to ensuring Baby Sitters’ Guild is able to cover childcare shifts · Attendance/Punctuality - Is consistently at work and on time; Arrives at childcare appointments, trainings and any other meetings on time.
· Dependability - Follows instructions, responds to management direction; Takes responsibility for own actions; Keeps commitments; Completes tasks on time or notifies appropriate person with an alternate plan.
Other attributes a plus: Experience working with children or in a school setting, teaching (early education, grade school, music, art, sports or similar), and customer service experience.
College degree in a related field Physical Effort: Work involves light to moderate physical effort such as lifting or moving children, frequent standing, bending and walking.
Job Type: Full-time Pay: $41,600.
00 - $45,760.
