What You Will Learn: As the Assistant Vice President of People Development and Learning (PDL), leading the Transitions Practice, you will play a pivotal role in driving L’Oréal’s commitment to bringing development and learning opportunities to people so they can grow and get equipped with the right skills in a changing world.
Reporting directly to the Senior Vice President of People Development & Learning, and as a member of the PDL LeadCom, you will manage a team of 2 Learning Experience Designers (LEDs) and 2 Assistant Manager Activators.
As the head of the Transitions Practice you are responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, and evaluation of a comprehensive learning strategy for onboarding, cross-boarding, and Leadership Development across L’Oreal USA reaching approximately 13,000 US based employees.
You will help create a learning ecosystem that enhances LUSA employees' skills, and capabilities to enable professional development and business growth.
What You Will Do: Partner with Global PDL and L’Oréal USA key stakeholders to build & execute strategic learning roadmap accelerating onboarding, cross-boarding, and leadership development across L’Oréal USA Partner with Global Learning University teams to co-create curriculum and share LUSA perspective/needs to influence the worldwide offer and meet global KPIs (coverage, reach and impact) for all L’Oréal Transitions content.
Identify ways to amplify the marketing and reach of the global programs and adapt global content to the local market as needed.
Continually meet with L’Oréal leaders in the US to diagnose short, medium, and long-term development needs and create innovative and customized learning solutions to address those needs.
Manage external vendor relationships and collaborate with global PDL to optimize the leadership development “Transition To” programs (transition to people management, transition to team management, transition to head of function, etc.
) to ensure we are developing People First leaders at all levels of the organization.
Collaborate with People Experience and HR Services (BEST) to optimize the onboarding experience from Day 1 through year 1.
Co-create a cross-boarding program with the People Experience team that increases enablement of leaders and empowers them with the necessary skills as they move across functions, divisions, and métiers.
Collaborate across L’Oréal USA PDL practices to streamline the learner experience and enable holistic skill-building Partner with PDL Learning Excellence practice to increase learner engagement through compelling communications and a data-driven approach to program management.
Ensure a 360 approach to learning, factoring in on-the-job (OTJ), in-tact team, classroom, coaching, e-learning and other learning formats, curating customized learning journeys that ensure our learners have access to the right skills at the right time.
Coach team to apply Instructional Design to create and deliver strategic/high quality learning solutions, and measure impact.
Manage the Transitions team’s learning budget (~$2M) and ensure that the team is adhering to L’Oréal’s procurement, legal, and payment policies.
Oversee the sourcing & management of external experts, speakers, and facilitators, partnering with procurement and ensuring optimal representation of the L’Oréal brand.
Leverage data (program performance, reach, impact, etc) to inform strategic choices & prioritization of offer.
Engage global & L’Oréal USA leadership stakeholders with progress measures and ensure continuous improvement.
Benchmark externally to identify & evaluate skill gaps and anticipate skills of the future.
What We Are Looking For: Skills/Experiences: 8+ years of experience with a large, complex organization is desired.
Experience and/or knowledge in Human Resources, specifically Learning & Development preferred Project Management Expertise: is able to set goals, manage timelines across multiple simultaneous projects and execute with excellence People Management: experience in leading others, setting goals, exchanging feedback and optimizing performance of teams.
Proven ability to collaborate: Able to engage cross functional partners to drive towards shared objectives, work closely with other Learning team members to share best practices and ensure high quality program delivery.
Strategic consulting & influencing skills.
Able to work with leaders to analyze complex business problems and define, validate and develop solutions in collaboration with learning and development partners.
Must possess excellent verbal and written communication Skills.
Able to communicate a message in an engaging and inspiring way to multiple levels in the organization.

Previous facilitation experience is required.
