As the Internal Control for Commercial, you will play a critical role in ensuring the company's compliance with internal controls and trade policy regulations.
You will be responsible for assessing risks, designing, and implementing controls, and monitoring adherence to policies and procedures within the trade policy function across all divisions.
Key Responsibilities: Design and Implement Internal Control Roadmap and priorities: Create and implement robust internal control frameworks, policies, and procedures specific to trade policy activities across L’Oreal USA; ensure internal control by design on all projects As part of a matrix environment, serve as the go-to-person for ALL internal control matters for CPD (Consumer Products Division); partner with other internal control members (ex.
digital, supply chain, sourcing, etc.
) to assist the division in all areas of internal control Controls Design and Implementation: Develop and implement effective internal controls to mitigate identified risks, ensuring accuracy and completeness of sales and pricing policy, GTS (general terms of sales), customer allowances, product catalog, fair market value analysis, etc.
Audit Management & Follow up: In charge of success of internal and external audits and implementation of recommended actions within specified timeline; prepare detailed reports for CPD and L’Oreal US management highlighting control deficiencies, improvements, and compliance status.
Self-Assessment Campaigns: Conduct annual self-assessment of trade policy processes, tools, and documentation to identify potential risks, control gaps, and areas for improvement; partner with business stakeholders to address identified gaps Norms Development: Assist in the development, review, and implementation of internal control norms related to trade policy compliance; assess compliance with existing and new norms Training and Awareness: Provide training and awareness sessions to relevant personnel on trade policy regulations, internal controls, and company procedures.
Reporting and Communication: Prepare reports and presentations on internal control compliance and identified risks for CPD management and L’Oreal USA leadership Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Finance/Accounting/ Engineering or a related field.
MBA preferred, but not required At least 10 years of overall experience in internal or external audits/ internal control Experience with data analytics and reporting tools.
Strong understanding of international trade regulations, customs procedures, and import/export laws.
Experience in risk assessment, control design and implementation, and internal audit methods.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team; demonstrate strong level of influence Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
